SearchEngineU publishes hands-on research on AI tools, personal finance for freelancers and side-hustlers, and the software and hardware behind serious remote work.
We exist because the internet is full of AI-tool reviews written by people who never opened the tool. That gap shows up as wasted subscription money, stalled workflows, and advice that reads well but doesn’t hold up when you try it on a real project.
What we cover
Three overlapping areas:
- AI and SaaS productivity tools — writing, video, automation, and the glue that ties them together. Focus on tools we run ourselves for at least 30 days before publishing a verdict.
- Personal finance for freelancers and side-hustlers — taxes, business banking, invoicing, credit building, and the specific mechanics of irregular-income planning.
- Remote work optimization — the productivity systems, communication tools, and physical setup that turn working-from-home into a job you can actually sustain.
The common thread is people with technical aptitude running small operations — freelancers, consultants, solopreneurs, two-to-five person teams — who buy their own tools and need the information to be right the first time.
Who we are
SearchEngineU is run by Marcus Hale. Marcus spent twelve years as a cybersecurity professional at the Federal Reserve working on regulatory compliance systems. He now works as a freelance tech and finance analyst and tests AI / SaaS tools professionally.
